Time is a precious commodity, and none of us wants to waste it.
This thought struck me when I was recently watching a client, whose wordpress website I don’t manage.
He was fumbling his way through WordPress, frustratingly trying to add a new page to his website. He was trying to figure out the interface. Painstakingly trying to work out how to post and publish on his site.
I seriously had to question how on earth this was a good use of his time?
Websites designed and developed on WordPress, are a great usable interface.
However, as a WordPress consultant, I see this a bit and it comes down to the old saying ” you don’t know, what you don’t know.”
It is though, still complex and requires a decent amount of skill, knowledge and familiarity with it in order to be usable and keep it working.
Even for consultants and experts with the technical skill, knowledge and experience that our team of web development experts in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast possess, it can sometimes be challenging. Let alone for a novice business owner.
Website designers who use wordpress regularly, are much more familiar with its inner workings than a business owner attempting to publish or even merely update a page. This is to be expected and things are often changing on the WordPress CMS system.
Call me crazy, but the CEO of this business, mucking around with Word Press, trying to produce pages, upload content, and SEO optimise it, is an inefficient use of not only his time but of his business money and resources. That’s even without saying getting it right!
If a business has hired a service provider of any kind then I believe that any means by which the provider can effectively save their clients time should probably be included in the services offered. Click To TweetThis is why we offer and managed packages for our client’s.
In your own business, ignoring this concept will mean you earn less, are less useful than you could be and ultimately leave the door open for a competitor to take your hard-won client or prospect away.
